In one fanfic Clark/Lex story I read, the author wrote something like this: This story is pre-slash, but if you squint your eyes and sort of look sideways, you could pretend it was gen.  It's sort of like the show that way.   Omar, the guy who writes the Smallville write-up for Television Without Pity says if this show was any gayer, it would be about two interior decorators living in San Francisco.

Nary an episode goes by without a LOOK between Clark and Lex which lets you know that the second the camera goes off them, that they're screwing like bunnies.  <g>
